This blog presents the Final Project outcome of Thibaut Degenne's MA of Graphic Moving Image (2010) at London College of Communication. The project is looking at the voyeuristic mechanism at stake in Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954) with the aim to answer the following research question: | To what extent are we aware and self-critical of the voyeuristic and perverted nature of spectatorship within film? Thibaut Degenne produced an immersive installation to find out whether it's possible or not for a film spectator to gain consciousness of his role as an implicit voyeur. |
